Laura (alias), an eleven-year-old girl, lives a poor tranquil mountain life in this small beautiful town. She has been assisted by 200 yuan financial aid monthly from Jinyang Civil Affairs Bureau since July 2012. 219 children lived in poverty here are also helped by this way, which significantly improves their living standard.

Laura has been taken care of by her grandmother since her parents were diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in October 2008 and July 2009 respectively. However, her life doesn’t go well due to her grandma’s getting older and mobility problem.

After the Children Welfare Demonstration Project started in 2010, the minister of child welfare in town helped Laura a lot.

It’s hard for Laura to make friends in town due to her parents’ disease, so Laura often comes to visit “Children’s home”, where she could play toys and have fun. The happiest thing for her is playing games with volunteers.

Rezuo, the minister of Child Welfare in town, has always been taking care of those 99 children in difficulties and 4 orphans with all her enthusiasm. She has helped 11 dropouts to go back to school, 7 newborns to register their identities, 2 sickness children to see doctors, and convinced 5 pregnant women to take pregnancy test over the last 3 years. In addition, she held a lecture focused on physiology for 70 teenage girls.

Both the work of people like Rezuo and monthly financial aid help those children in difficulties to build their dreams.
